Liberals Discover the Constitution, and Other Miracles

Lily Tomlin famously said that “no matter how cynical you get, it is impossible to keep up,” and even though I have consistently expressed my unwillingness to embrace the corrosive cynicism that afflicts our culture, I have to admit that she might be right. Consider the following three examples:

EXAMPLE 1:

From the Washington Times, “Senate nixes GOP bid to have generals testify,” 10/2/09:

“In two votes the Senate rejected Republicans' attempt to tie Mr. Obama's hands and instead backed the Democrats' amendment that puts off any hearings from military commanders until after Mr. Obama makes his final decision on a new strategy in Afghanistan.

Republicans had insisted Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, testify before Congress on his belief that without more troops sent to the region, the war there will be lost. But Sen. Carl Levin, Michigan Democrat and chairman of the Armed Services Committee, said Congress didn't tie President George W. Bush's hands when he was planning the troop surge in Iraq, and that lawmakers should give Mr. Obama the same leeway as he decides whether to send more troops to Afghanistan.

"Nobody tried to have a hearing at that time," Mr. Levin said. "We should follow that same pattern here. We should allow this deliberative process to take place. We should not try to intrude upon it."

Suddenly liberal democrats in Congress have had an “I could have had a V-8 moment:” we actually AREN’T in charge of foreign policy! It’s the president’s responsibility, as it turns out! Back when we were attempting to prevent Ronald Reagan from ridding our hemisphere of Soviet communist satellites, and before that when we were ensuring the slaughter of millions in Southeast Asia by defunding our South Vietnamese allies, we just didn’t get that! Why, even as recently as 2007, as this story reflects, we did all we could to stop Pres. Bush’s plan for a surge in Iraq.

“In some of the harshest comments aimed at the president by any member of Congress, Senator Ted Kennedy used a Washington speech Tuesday to compare the situation President Bush faces in Iraq to the war in Vietnam.

The Massachusetts Democrat, who was among senators voting against a measure in 2002 giving congressional authorization for U.S. military action in Iraq, is taking legislative steps he says will ensure that Congress takes a firm stand. "That no additional troops can be sent, and no additional dollars can be spent on such an escalation unless and until Congress approves the president's plan," he said.

A version of Senator Kennedy's bill is being introduced in the House by Massachusetts Congressman Ed Markey, another key critic of Bush administration policies in Iraq.”

    What were we thinking!

 EXAMPLE 2:

In another amazing epiphany, some democrats have moved some stuff around in some long ago forgotten, cob-web filled closet and discovered an irrelevant, dusty document written by evil dead white European men, the U.S. Constitution! When did they decide to refer to this insignificant, quaint historical scribbling? Was it when they were discussing their scheme for the federal government to take over the health care system and threaten those who don’t purchase medical insurance with jail time? Was it when they were handing the man-god B. Hussein Obama and his union cronies General Motors? No. It was when Republicans in Congress decided to finally cut off the gushing spigot of federal funds (read our money) being funneled into the dems’ vote fraud factory, ACORN. Apparently, any denial of largesse from the tax payers to this criminal enterprise might be an unconstitutional bill of attainder, which is a piece of legislation that seeks to punish a particular individual or group, is prohibited by Article I, Section 9, paragraph 3. I guess it’s one thing to ignore the Constitution when they are trying to take over our economy and control every aspect of our lives, but let someone threaten to “punish” their pet racket, then, suddenly, it’s not only no longer an impediment to the wonderful things that they want the government to do for us, it’s a bulwark against tyranny. I

Cynical bitter clinger that I am, I’m having a hard time getting my flyover country pea brain around the notion that a denial of federal funds to finance vote fraud, intimidation shakedown projects and similar “community organizing” is “punishment,” but then I did go to a state university, after all.

EXAMPLE 3:

Barack Hussein Obama (MMM MMM MMM-sing along, won’t you?) on 9/23/09 at that asylum called the United Nations:

“We know the future will be forged by deeds and not simply words. Speeches alone will not solve our problems - it will take persistent action. So for those who question the character and cause of my nation, I ask you to look at the concrete actions that we have taken in just nine months.”

This was just the latest in a series of apologies in which our man-god president has basically said “I know America sucks, but I’m doing my best to fulfill my promise to remake it, as I promised in my inaugural address. Now that I am there to apply my healing preternatural touch, trust me. I’ll fix it.”  (A list of Barry’s Top Ten Apologies is here.)

    B. Hussein today in Copenhagen, on his errand at the behest of Boss Daley:

"Nearly one year ago, on a clear November night, people from every corner of the world gathered in the city of Chicago or in front of their televisions to watch the results of the U.S. Presidential election," Obama said.

"So I urge you to choose Chicago. I urge you to choose America. And if you do — if we walk this path together— then I promise you this: the city of Chicago and the United States of America will make the world proud."

Apparently the rest of the world is supposed to trust Sham WOW (Walks on Water) that by 2016, he’ll have sufficiently emasculated the Constitution, indoctrinated most of the population, increased the percentage of the population beholden to the federal government, and otherwise “remade” this “mean” country, so that it will no longer be the international embarrassment that it has clearly been until his sainted arrival.

Never mind. Perhaps there’s no inconsistency in that last example, and no cynicism in my observation about it. Everything is about the narcissistic, pompous, prevaricating, elitist empty suit who we have the misfortune to refer to as “president.”

Priorities Are Priorities

The events of the last few days have brought the situation that we are in into sharp relief, and it’s not a pretty picture. The narcissistic, inexperienced, elitist, empty suit with a history of cocaine use, a shadowy past and a collection of unsavory friends and associates that is masquerading as the guardian of our Constitution repeated once again that he is not interested in “victory” in Afghanistan, but rather in “solving the problem,” thereby displaying a stunning and terrifying naiveté. Forgive me, man-god, but there is no solution to this problem without victory. If you don’t understand that, you are even more clueless than even I previously believed. Don’t you worry about it, though. You’ve got to get to Copenhagen to do a favor for Mayor Daley. Priorities are priorities.

Thanks to the hoards of celebrity-obsessed, ignorant teenyboppers and Oprah acolytes encouraged by ostensibly serious journalists who shared their squealing schoolgirl crush, this is where is where we find ourselves. The following is the reality:

What’s Important to B. Hussein

The “crisis” of man-made global warming

Incessantly appearing on television, magazine covers, and any other vehicle he and David Axelrod can find to insure that he is constantly in the face of every sentient creature on earth

Squiring Michelle Antoinette (aka the First Klingon)  all over the planet on glamourous “date nights” and shopping sprees

Destroying our health care system through his government takeover scheme

Redressing the unfairness of this “mean country,” by redistributing income from the serfs who exist merely to submit to his dictates to his mascot groups and political cronies

Apologizing for the many sins racist imperialistic Amerika has committed against the rest of the world, Including destroying the planet through its greed and consumerism (see above, re global warming) so that the members of that international insane asylum with frequent open mic nights, the U.N., will love him

Payback to Mayor Daley and the rest of the Chicago Machine for their help foisting him on our country

The continued existence of the cult of personality that catapulted him into office, including the covert stoking of white guilt, the tsunami-like wave of which he surfed right into the Oval Office

His belief in his own preternatural talent and super-specialness

What’s Important to Normal Americans

Victory over al-Qaeda and similar head-chopping Islamic fanatics determined to murder as many Americans as possible, so that we can be safe and secure in our homes, workplaces and schools

    Winning the war in Afghanistan

Peace through strength, as putting the national interest of the United States of America ahead of every other nation on earth, even if that means we must take actions that might not pass the “global test” or otherwise please the U.N.

Preventing totalitarian lunatics from obtaining nuclear weapons

The protection of our brave, selfless troops putting their lives on the line to keep us safe

The continued existence of America as that “shining city of a hill” Ronald Reagan so eloquently described

Passing to future generations the freedom that we were fortunate to inherit from our ancestors, who worked tirelessly, fought, and even died, to give us this precious legacy

    Individual responsibility

Individual liberty, facilitated by limited government, confident that if left alone in an economy with a robust free market we can take care of our families just fine, thank you, and help the less fortunate, too, without the federal government putting a gun to our heads

Belief in God, and the strength that we draw from faith

Once again I find myself disagreeing with Hugo Chavez. (I guess he won’t be winking at me the way he did at Courtney Love.) Where he smells hope, I smell the stench of appeasement, incompetence and arrogance, none of which bodes well for our country. Courage, but pray.

Who Do These Guys Think They Are?

The Liberal Death Star  (that would be the New York Times for those of you who don’t listen to the Teri O’Brien show, or who are new to this blog) Reports:

Seven former directors of the Central Intelligence Agency asked President Obama on Friday to shut down the new Justice Department inquiry into past abuses during interrogations of terrorism suspects, arguing that it “will seriously damage” the nation’s ability to protect itself.

In a letter to Mr. Obama, the former C.I.A. chiefs said the cases under study had already been examined by career prosecutors who found that no criminal charges were warranted. To reopen cases based on a change in which political party controls the government, they wrote, will make it harder for intelligence officers to take risks without worrying that some future attorney general might investigate them.

“Those men and women who undertake difficult intelligence assignments in the aftermath of an attack such as September 11 must believe there is permanence in the legal rules that govern their actions,” the men said in their letter.

They argued that the new inquiry would result in the disclosure of information about past operations that “can only help Al Qaeda” elude capture, and would convince foreign intelligence agencies that they could not trust the United States to protect secrets.

First of all, it’s distressing to learn that obvious racists (otherwise why would they criticize an Obama administration policy?) were in charge of the CIA, including two who worked for our first black president Bill Clinton. Second, who do these guys think they are, questioning the decisions the One’s hand-picked Attorney General makes? As if! As if they know more about national security than Eric Holder and B. Hussein Obama, two guys who understand that, sure national security is sort of important, but that the rights of guys named Abdul and Mohammed, not to mention this generation’s Bill Ayers are paramount. What if someone eavesdrops on them without the ACLU and some SoSo (as in Sonia “Affirmative Action Baby” Sotomayor) type federal judge’s approval? Is that what you want? Do you want some poor former cave-dwelling, previously lice-infested, rag-head wearing guy taken away from his orange peel chicken and rice pilaf so that some cruel interrogator can splash him with water? I didn’t think so.

Jimmy “King of the Useful Idiots” Carter understood that. He was horrified by the excesses committed by the CIA. Sure, his policies of emasculating and demoralizing our intelligence agencies probably led directly to 9/11, but I’m sure that, like Mary Jo Kopechne, who no doubt would have volunteered to give her life to ensure that Ted Kennedy could spend 47 years in the Senate, those who perished on 9/11 would have been happy to be incinerated to make sure that none of our country’s enemies rights were infringed or even threatened.

Let Me Guess: It's Not the Van Jones I Knew

One of the most hilarious memes circulated among the clueless clownish newsreaders on ABS, NBS and CBS (BS, as in “Barry Soetoro”), currently in full head scratch mode, trying to figure out why their guy is having such a tough time accomplishing his mission of “remaking” America. Let me explain it you, and, being cognizant of your obvious intellectual limitations, I’ll speak slowly.

B. Hussein Obama was elected in a year when the democrat would have had to rape his mom on a pile of dead puppies, which he personally shot on live tv, to not be successful. The incumbent was a two-termer of the opposite party who had presided over an increasingly unpopular war. Concerns about the scheming Islamic fanatics who murdered 3000 Americans on 9/11 had faded into oblivion, and the economy appeared to be sinking. Couple those things with the fact that, as previously noted, the Obama campaign managed to make the election about personality, not ideas. In the latter, conservative ideas win every time. In the former, particularly when it’s the grumpy old man with no commitment to any particular ideology v. the super cool, mixed-race hipster, concealing his decades-long commitment to radical beliefs at war with the values of most Americans behind a smiling demeanor, liberals prevail.

If you really want to split your sides laughing, tune in when they begin to speculate that the reason He Who Used to Walk on Water (but who is now like some of those mortgages that Barney Frank helped facilitate--underwater), is encountering a teensy weensy bit of opposition to his plan to destroy our health care system. The reason--get ready, and please swallow any liquid that you may have in your mouth, lest you spew it all of yourself--they say, is that “Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have pulled him to the left.” Oh, of course! This guy, who hung out with Billy Ayers and Jeremiah Wright, and who admits being influenced by an admitted communist as a youngster and choosing to hang out with Marxists in college, he needed to be coaxed over to the Left. I want some of what they’re smoking.

Speaking of the passel of pinkos surrounding B. Hussein, by now, unless you get your news from one of the afore-mentioned BS networks, you know about Van Jones, the self-avowed Marxist, defender of cop killer Abu Mamia Jamal, and believer that the Bush administration was behind 9/11, who our Dear Leader put in charge of “green jobs.” That’s a perfect gig for a guy who has openly vowed to use the environmental movement to bring on a socialist revolution.

Some had speculated that Mr. Jones would be canned by now, but so far from the adminstration--crickets. Does Van Jones have something on Barack Obama or his Mrs.? Time will tell.

Dr. Obama's Misdiagnosis

Now that B. Hussein Obama’s preferred methods of getting his way by eliminating opposition, such as intimidation, legal razzle dazzle or subterfuge, have failed to pull his planned summer fast one on the 80% of Americans who are pleased with their health care and reasonably satisfied with their medical insurance (yes, those are two different things), it’s time for Plan B. Many people panic when things don’t go as planned, especially narcissistic, pompous, self-important elitists unaccustomed to suffering the slightest ripple of disagreement and who have practically no accomplishments, and an inexplicable belief in their own entitlement. At these times, they fall back on their tried and true play books. In the case of He Who Walks on Water, that playbook, closely based on Saul Alinksy’s Rules for Radicals, has only two threadbare entries: (1) demonize the opposition (see # 11, “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”) and (2) hypnotize the rubes with “soaring rhetoric.” I have no doubt but that Obama’s apparatchiks, both in and out of the LSM (Lame Stream Media), are busily combing through Sarah Palin’s trash can, and reading decades’ old master’s theses, looking for the smoking gun that will silence that nagging concern you have when you hear the Community Organizer in Chief say seemingly inconsistent things like “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor,” even though “our health care system is unsustainable.” In the meantime, they’ll fall back on the speechifying. On Wednesday, September 9, he will address a joint session of Congress. Note to B. Hussein: in this case, “joint” does not refer to that reefer you talked about smoking in that insipid collection of half-truths you (or Bill Ayers) wrote.

Everybody knows that Barack Hussein Obama possesses a preternatural intelligence, and if you aren’t convinced, just ask yourself “Is there any better test of intelligence than the ability to read someone else’s words from a TelePrompTer?” You see. Obvious, isn’t it? Bitter clinger that I am, despite this compelling evidence, I am skeptical of the man-god’s towering mental capacity, but for the sake of argument, let’s assume it is genuine. Still, there’s something missing. What could it be? Oh, I know. Common sense! I am reminded of Woody Allen’s profound insight that intellectuals can be absolutely brilliant and have no idea what’s going on. If Barry, David Axelrod and Rahm “Human Q-Tip” Emanuel think that what ails their dropping poll numbers can be fixed by rolling out their jug-eared puppet with his smarmy used car salesman routine, delivering another cliché-heavy, tedious, predictable heap of Orwellian double talk, they are more clueless than that parole officers, sheriff deputies and other government agents “supervising” Phillip Garrido.

Guys, here’s your problem. It’s not a “message” problem. It’s a substance problem. The cure isn’t another borefest. It’s to face reality. It’s not the pretty label on the can. It’s not the smooth-talking celebrity spokesmodel. The dogs won’t eat the food.

It’s a bit ironic that Dr. Obama’s misdiagnosis could result in the death of decades-long dream of eliminating once and for all the unfairness of the American health care system in this “mean” country. How dare do those who work hard and pay scads of taxes have the effrontery to think that they should be able to see their doctors sooner than the targets of their vicious oppression, including illegal aliens, race-obsessed gimme groups, deadbeats and all the rest of “the Man’s” long-suffering victims? B. Hussein and friends want “social justice” at last! The afore-mentioned irony is best illustrated by this story, demonstrating the results of misdiagnosis under the system that President Sham WOW (Walks on Water) would like to impose on us. From UK Telegraph:

In a letter to The Daily Telegraph, a group of experts who care for the terminally ill claim that some patients are being wrongly judged as close to death. Under NHS guidance introduced across England to help doctors and medical staff deal with dying patients, they can then have fluid and drugs withdrawn and many are put on continuous sedation until they pass away. But this approach can also mask the signs that their condition is improving, the experts warn.Under the guidelines the decision to diagnose that a patient is close to death is made by the entire medical team treating them, including a senior doctor. They look for signs that a patient is approaching their final hours, which can include if patients have lost consciousness or whether they are having difficulty swallowing medication. However, doctors warn that these signs can point to other medical problems.Patients can become semi-conscious and confused as a side effect of pain-killing drugs such as morphine if they are also dehydrated, for instance. When a decision has been made to place a patient on the pathway doctors are then recommended to consider removing medication or invasive procedures, such as intravenous drips, which are no longer of benefit. If a patient is judged to still be able to eat or drink food and water will still be offered to them, as this is considered nursing care rather than medical intervention. Dr Hargreaves said that this depended, however, on constant assessment of a patient’s condition. He added that some patients were being “wrongly” put on the pathway, which created a “self-fulfilling prophecy” that they would die.

He said: “I have been practising palliative medicine for more than 20 years and I am getting more concerned about this “death pathway” that is coming in.It is supposed to let people die with dignity but it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.Patients who are allowed to become dehydrated and then become confused can be wrongly put on this pathway.”

This next excursion into deceit and obfuscation should be interesting. Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that these weasel politicians don’t see any problem using “savings” and “government” in the same sentence? Ditto “government” and “competition.” You’ve got admit one thing: liberals are like The Three Stooges, idiotic, but fun to watch.

The Chicago Way

As I noted in my tweet, which was featured on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal, Mr. Hope and Change is nothing but a Chicago machine politician. Now, increasing numbers of Americans are waking up to the fact that they probably should have expressed a teensy weensy bit more skepticism when a pompous, narcissistic empty suit with almost zero accomplishments, unless you count voting “present” over 100 times in the state Senate or stoking a sense of victimhood and entitlement in the poor people he was using as rungs on his career ladder, presented himself as a “post-partisan” “post-racial” savior. Gee, a Chicago politician says he’s going to bring unparalleled ethics and transparency to Washington. What could possibly go wrong? It makes more sense to believe in the tooth fairy, for crying out loud. Granted, a huge part of the Obama campaign’s effective electoral strategy was to involve millions of people in the presidential election whose only previous votes had been cast on their cell phones during a hotly-contested “American Idol” season. They still haven’t gotten over the fact that Oprah got them to buy a phony yarn about drug abuse and recovery cooked up by a creative writer as a true story.

Speaking of moronic and insufferably boring collections of fairy tales concocted by a fevered, dope-influenced brain, in his book “Dreams from My Father,” B. Hussein wrote how he decided to join a church, while a “community organizer” in Chicago, something he hasn’t yet done in Washington. I’ll spare you the details. Here’s the bottom line: the young agitator soon discovered that it was bad for business to not be able to provide an answer when he was asked by the ministers and church-loving people in the community that he was trying to incite “Where do you go to church?” Political expediency dictated that he get an answer to that question STAT, and he found the perfect one in the racist, anti-Semitic, screeching lunatic Jeremiah Wright, who was less about spirituality and more about race-based victimhood and payback from Whitey. Perfect! Now that his political fortunes have turned South, Barry is now turning spiritual, lecturing us on the “moral imperative” that is socialism and government-controlled, rationed health care. It’s difficult for me to focus on this moral imperative stuff because I’m still trying to figure out how someone with Barack Obama’s deep Christian faith still hasn’t found a church in his new home town after almost 8 months.

The former man-god may have left Rev. Wright behind, but it turns out that when the future Pres. Sham WOW (Walks on Water) slithered out of the stinking slough of corruption that is Cook County democrat politics, he was dragging a huge collection of alums from Chicago City Hall, not the least of which is his big-mouthed wife Michelle, who is a second-generation patronage soldier of Daley’s army.  Not surprisingly, they have brought Chicago-style politics to Washington. Consider the following stories:

$4B of stimulus funds to create rental housing

It hasn’t escaped the attention of many that the “stimulus” bill, which absolutely, positively had to be signed IMMEDIATELY, even before any of that collection of self-important, self-interested weasels masquerading as statesmen that we call “Congress” had a chance to read it, hasn’t prevented unemployment from rising above 8%, as promised. Now perhaps we know why. The good news is that, in the grand tradition of Chicago cronyism, it will no doubt stimulate some of Obama’s pals, just as this “affordable housing” project back in Chicago did for Mayor Daley’s friends.

    Democratic investigators target health insurers

From Politico:

House Democrats are probing the nation’s largest insurance companies for lavish spending, demanding reams of compensation data and schedules of retreats and conferences.

Letters sent to 52 insurance companies by Democratic leaders demand extensive documents for an examination of ‘extensive compensation and other business practices in the health insurance industry.” The letters set a deadline of Sept. 14 for the documents.

Just in case some of the remaining hopelessly besotted Obama cult members have wandered over here and don’t recognize that, let me spell it out for you. It’s called the Chicago way. Like Tony Soprano having a friendly conversation with someone he thinks may have crossed him, these democrats just want to talk to you, Mr. Insurance Executive. Don’t you worry about it.

As the Gorebot famously said “A leopard never changes his stripes.”

From "We Are the Ones We've Been Waiting For" to "We are the Ones Who Are Waiting"

We have discovered yet another important issue with which President Sham WOW (Walks on Water) claims to be “unfamiliar,” Section 102 of the “health care (rationing) reform” bill he’s trying to foist on us. That is the section that end private health insurance as we know it and herd everyone into a government plan with the efficiency of FEMA and the compassion of the IRS. In B. Hussein’s world, compassion and empathy have their place, of course. that would be in making law from the bench, when a liberal judge rips the blindfold off Lady Justice and replaces it with grievance googles allowing her to tip the scales in favor of favored mascot groups. When it comes to medicine, though, doctors can’t make treatment decisions based on individual evaluations of things like a person’s heart or spirit. Instead, they need to comply with the requirements of “comparative efficiency.”

Recall the previous list of revelations that stunned this brilliant former “constitutional law professor” (actually a part-time lecturer, but what’s a little resume inflation when a man-god is describing himself?):

Jeremiah Wright’s lunatic racist, anti-American beliefs, despite spending 20 years listening to his raving

Traitor Bill Ayers never-ending commitment and on-going to the values the led him to commit terrorism against our country

The felonious activities of his former client/patron/mansion fairy Tony Rezko, despite a relationship spanning more than a decade and the fact that he could not have purchased his house without assistance from Mr. Rezko

Apparently, this bill is not the health care bill he knew and the specifics are above his pay grade. I guess now I can understand why my congressman and Mark Kirk (R-RINO) don’t read any of this stuff before voting for it. Why should they? They trust the Pied Piper like the rest of the rats.

Perhaps the man-god will get a question about this provision in his upcoming lie fest, scheduled for 7 pm this evening, allowing him to repeat his second biggest lie (here’s the first biggest), the mantra that “if you like your insurance and like your doctor, you can keep them. Period. End of story.” The way he does his patented two-step, he should go on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Never forget that all that matters is the ultimate result, taking over every aspect of our lives and making everyone beholden to the ruling elite, and your health care is the key.

I would love to hear the questions you’d like to see the Dear Reader asked tonight, so please post them below. Here are a few of mine:

You claim that the objective of the bill is to reduce costs, yet last Thursday the Director of the Congressional Budget Office said that none of the bills he has seen would reduce health care costs.

Is Mr. Elmendorf wrong? If so, what is he missing?

You have repeatedly cited the Mayo clinic as a model for excellent health care at reduced cost. Yet this is what the Mayo Clinic said about the health care reform bill that you and the democrats in Congress are promoting:

Do you think it’s disingenuous to use the Mayo Clinic to promote a bill that they don’t support?

You admitted that you are unfamiliar with the bill. Who wrote it, and can we meet that person so we can ask him or her our questions?

Will you insist that any government health care plan pay for abortion?

Will you veto any plan that requires covering illegal aliens? If not, why do you believe that U.S. taxpayers should provide health care to those in violation of U.S. law?

Speaking of illegal aliens, I’d also like to know how, given the inevitable reduction in the number of primary care physicians that will come from lower incomes and their continuing risk of lawsuits, we’ll be able to add 40 or 50 million new patients without increasing wait times to see a doctor. Perhaps he plans to perform the medical equivalent of the miracle of the loaves and fishes.

I plan to live blog the lie fest tonight. perhaps in a chat room. If you’re up for that, please comment below, or drop me a note at teri@detoxaliberal.com. One thing I’m hoping to see tonight is another peek behind the Cool Dude mask to see the real Barack, the thin-skinned, in over his head, celebutard narcissist who does not suffer being asked challenging questions, or being told “no.” Recall the last time the mask slipped, when he was asked whether he broke his silence about the brutal repression of protestors in Iraq after being shamed into it by a speech from Sen. John McCain. He snapped “What do you think?” I think you’re cute when you’re mad, Sham WOW.

For Barack and Michelle, "Public Service" Provides the Best of Both Worlds

Of all the risible myths about Barack and Michelle Obama is the one about their selfless sacrifice in giving up their “high paying careers” for “public service,” repeated yet again yesterday when the First Klingon kicked off yet another pointless exercise in stagecraft called “United We Serve.” Like nearly everything else about this couple of narcissistic, affirmative action dependent parasites, this PR construct about their devotion to “public service” is designed to perpetuate the cult of the personality about them and is completely phony. First of all, the guy who has the drive and moxie to operate a convenience market in a poor neighborhood does more for its residents than a busload of “community organizers,” stoking a sense of victimhood and entitlement to promote their own political careers, who arrives when things are bad and moves on leaving things no better than when he got there. Second, most normal Americans do their “public service” as volunteers for their churches or synagogues or other charitable organizations. I realize that was a little tough for the Obamas, given their spiritual adviser of 20+ years, the guy who performed their marriage ceremony and baptized their children, Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright. What sort of “public service” opportunities might he suggest for his parishioners? Taking children to help Black Panther thugs intimidate voters outside polling places? Apparently, the Obamas thought giving to the Congressional Black Caucus was a charitable contribution, so you can see they are very confused about not only “public service,” but also charity.

For Michelle Obama to suggest that because she left Sidley & Austin, one of Chicago’s largest corporate law firms, she forfeited her future material comfort, and did so out of a selfless desire to serve others, is absurd. Granted, she may have seen her salary reduced for a couple of years after she left private practice to work in the office of the mayor of the City of Chicago, but that was a small price to pay to become a member of the political class with all the rich rewards, financial and otherwise, it offers. To quote one of Hillary’s hairdressers mentioned in this story about Michelle being the first First Lady in history to have a full-time makeup artist as part of her entourage, "You do it because you know you will have some prestige and you will be able to make money later.” Similarly, you go into government because you know (1) you won’t have to work very hard and (2) while the salary may seem small, when you factor in the perqs and the power over other people, the pay can’t be beat.

In addition, it’s not entirely clear that Michelle Antoinette was the superstar in private practice that she later became after her husband was elected to the U.S. Senate and was therefore able to obtain a $1 million earmark for the hospital that gave her the no-show, PC mandated “community relations” job. In fact, there is some evidence to the contrary. Not surprisingly, the same enormous sense of entitlement and resentment that has been on display   in the last couple of years afflicted her when she worked at Sidley, where she was a whiny, pushy malcontent with an inflated sense of her own importance. So, was she really “giving up” a great career with unlimited opportunity, or was she escaping from an arena in which she was destined to ultimately fail? After all, the guilty white liberals at the firm might not be able to run interference for her forever. In the private sector, people still have to produce something worthwhile. It’s not enough to just be of the correct race or gender, and have a big mouth, arrogance and a burning desire to change the world.

It’s clear that for the Obamas, politics was where it’s at, and not because of their altruism. (If you doubt that, consider their gaudy charitable contributions.)It’s paid off extremely well for them both. I’m sure that no partner at Sidley enjoys more luxurious “date nights” to New York City or Paris than they do, and even those who do have to pay for them themselves rather than jetsetting on the taxpayers’ dime. Would Michelle have the afore-mentioned full-time makeup artist, plus an army of assistants, chefs, cleaning people and other assorted minions even if she had managed to convince Sidley to overlook her deficiencies and make her a partner?

So, while Michelle Obama is able to sanctimoniously lecture others about the desirability of avoiding high-paying corporate jobs in favor of “public service,” she continues to enjoy every material luxury and opportunity to experience the best that life in America, “downright mean” country that it is, has to offer. Occupying the moral high ground wearing $540 sneakers, $775 boots, having her own resident makeup artist, and generally living it up. Does it get any better than that for a liberal charlatan than that? I don’t think so.

So can we please have an end to Michelle portraying herself as the second coming of Mother Teresa because she chose to join the Chicago political machine shortly before marrying “community organizer” B. Hussein? No doubt both career moves were part of their strategy, pieces of the puzzle, by which this conniving pair would ascend to the pinnacle of power.

I couldn’t halp but notice this little tidbit from the article about this stupid “United We Serve” photo op:

“Among the cabinet secretaries scheduled to skip out of their day jobs Monday for street level toiling were: Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke, who was to visit the La Mesita Homeless Shelter for Families in Mesa, Ariz; Attorney General Eric Holder, who planned to go to the Police Athletic league in Philadelphia; HUD secretary Shaun Donovan, who was scheduled to help two families move back into their homes in New Orleans; Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki, who planned to help volunteer drivers transport patients at VA Medical Centers; Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, who was to work with volunteers at Shenandoah National Park; Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, who planned to work with Habitat for Humanity in Brooklyn, New York; Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, scheduled to work with the Los Angeles Communities Advocating for Unity Social Justice and Action YouthBuild program; and DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, who was to work with the Orlando Citizen Corps Council and  volunteers.” (emphasis mine)

From the Los Angeles Communities Advocating for Unity Social Justice website:

LA CAUSA engages disenfranchised young people and their families from East Los Angeles to take action against the injustices that impact low-income communities of color.

Once again “public service” means something far different than most well-intentioned Americans believe. It is a not altruistic actions taken to help your fellow man. It is radical left wing activism designed to “remake” our country into something we won’t recognize and won’t want to live in, as in being a “community organizer.” For more examples of similar “public service,” see the felonious vote fraud factory and friend of Obama’s, ACORN, now renamed COI.

Obama Defeats Housefly!

While protestors against the totalitarian regime in Iran are getting shot and beaten in the streets of Tehran, Mr. Hope and Change, Barack Hussein Obama, continues to vote present with his “nuanced” (read panty-waist) response. Imagine the conversation going on in Jeremiah Wright’s former parishioner’s head: “on the one hand, it’s a brutal dictatorship that promotes terrorism all over the world. On the other hand, America has no right to interfere, given our racist, imperialistic history, and our interference in Iran’s domestic leadership in 1953.” Once again, B. Hussein, votes present, and his apparatchiks in the politburo media justify it with reference to the afore-mentioned events in 1953, leaving most of his supporters extremely confused. “How could America get involved in Iran in 1953 when that’s when the American Civil War was going on?” they ask as they scratch their empty heads.

He Who Walks on Water saved his ire for a a more worthy adversary, to the collective swoons, oohs and aahs of the propagandists in our version of Pravda over his “amazing athleticism.” We haven’t seen reporting like this since Kim Jong Il’s first golf game. Take that, you vicious, dangerous fly! I’m gonna get you, Sucka! No doubt the poor hapless insect was attracted by the reeking stench coming from the lies that issue with such ease and regularity from Barry’s mendacious mouth.

Meanwhile here at home, the Lame Stream Media continues their approach to “objective reporting” about Barack and Michelle Obama, which means pretending that normal Americans consider them objects of worship and endless fascination rather than a couple of narcissistic beneficiaries of affirmative action who alternately bore and enrage us with their ostentatious displays of taxpayer-funded amusements. In the latest foray into “hard news,” as in fluffy feature stories promoting their already overpackaged images, they want us to believe that we are looking to them to help us get our fat, flabby bodies in shape. In Michelle’s case--how can I say this delicately?--no matter how many stories they write about her “buff arms,” I can’t help but notice that there’s a reason she is rarely photographed from the waist down, particularly from behind, so I’m not looking for her “perfect body” diet any time soon. As for Barry, I assumed that all supernatural beings were possessed of perfect physical bodies. Or it could be the cigarettes.

Reparations Have to Start Somewhere

Last week, in the aftermath of the Obamas’ “Date Night in New York City,” I cautioned you not to be distracted by the obvious; that is, the blatant phoniness of these two affirmative-action beneficiary limousine liberals, who jet off on our dime to live it up while we sacrifice, enjoying our frozen pizzas and Net Flix movies. Instead, we need to realize that today it’s frozen pizza. Tomorrow it’s rationed health care, if any at all.

Now, as the unemployment rate is at a 25-year high, HWWOW (He Who Walks on Water) and the Godmother of Soul, Michelle give us the finger again, saying in effect, “You liked our trip to New York City so much, now we’re taking the kids to Paris for vacation!” I can’t wait to see the woman who looks like James Brown in drag doing her patented Farmer-Brown-behind-a-plow stomp around the City of Lights, and to hear Chris “the Screamer” Matthews try to convince people without impaired vision that she is the second coming of Jackie Kennedy.

Remember all those stories and late night jokes about how President Bush was constantly on vacation? Will our Lame Stream Media friends be questioning why after 136 days this arrogant, inexperienced Chicago political hack needs another vacation? Apparently bankrupting future generations is hard work!

I had another thought. Back during the campaign, the Empty-Suit-in-Chief suggested that he might support the concept of reparations; specifically, saying at UNITY ’08, a meeting of minority “journalists” aka cheerleaders for the Obama campaign: "I personally would want to see our tragic history, or the tragic elements of our history, acknowledged," the Democratic presidential hopeful said. "I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it's Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds." and adding: “You know, I have said in the past, and I’ll repeat again, that the best reparations we can provide are good schools in the inner city and jobs for people who are unemployed. And I think that strategies that invest in lifting people out of the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow, but that have brought applicability and allow us to build coalitions to actually get these things done, that, I think, is the best strategy.”

I know what your are thinking, you bitter-clinging typical white person, you; that is, but for the Jim Crow definition of what it means to be black, the infamous “one drop rule,” Barack Hussein would be significantly less “historic,” as in not historic period. As for good schools in the inner city, I’m with you, bro. Does this mean that you’re now supporting school choice, so that poor children can get the sort of education you provide for your daughters and that you touted when introducing your Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor? No, but you sure talk pretty, man-god.

When you see the drooling, slobbering reports about the Obamas in Paris, look at it this way. Barack and Michelle “First Klingon” Obama, who has lamented what a mean, rotten country this is, are just doing their part to allow our tragic history acknowledged by being the first to accept well deserved reparations, in the form of private jets trips, fancy dinners, family vacations to Paris, and all the other glittering aspects of their glamorous lives.

After all, didn’t Michelle, despite having had a white-guilt generated no-work gig for which she got a $200,000+ raise after her husband was elected to Senate, whine that she and her husband had barely paid off their college loans, and say “give us something!” ? Now I realize why she stomps around. Her sense of entitlement is even larger than her substantial caboose. And don’t forget. Times are hard, and we all, with some notable tax-funded exceptions, need to “sacrifice.”

Tears for the Tillerman

Once again, our tattooed, pony-tailed and excessively pierced lefty friends have a problem, one that they can’t seem to avoid. We can’t take you seriously, and it’s not just because of your goofy getups because you share this problem with those of your political ilk who walk around masquerading as normal people; that is, we can’t take your outrage over murder seriously. You claim to be appalled and disgusted by the murder of George Tiller, the Baby Killer, and yet, you lionize and celebrate murderers on a ridiculously consistent basis, including:

Fidel Castro, and his gleeful executioner Ché Guevera
    Cop Killer, Mumia, hometown hero
    Tookie Williams
    Earth Day co-founder, Ira Einhorn
    George Jackson
    Jack Henry Abbott

We also have a tough time believing that you think it’s wrong for someone to advocate violence against or physical injury to his political enemies, since you cheered when Alec Baldwin urged the stoning of not only Henry Hyde, but his family, Julianne Malveaux hoped Clarence Thomas would suffer a fatal heart attack and most recently, Wanda Sykes expressed her desire that Rush Limbaugh’s kidneys would fail.

So, just as “torture” is wrong, unless the right people are on the receiving end, and some racism is good and some is not, also depending on the recipients, the Left is exposed as the passel of phonies that they are. As one who has never advocated violence against domestic political enemies and has universally condemned murder (including yesterday, when I condemned Tiller’s murder), I’m afraid I’m going to have to consider your indignation over the killing of Tiller the Killer as just another example of using tragedy to promote your ideological agenda. That’s understandable since Tiller was a terrific spokesperson for it, but I’m afraid you are so busted on this one, yet again.

Authorities in Kansas had been trying for years to prevent Tiller from maximizing his murderous activity by forcing him to adhere strictly to the law, but were stymied by the actions of his protector, Gov. (now Obama’s Sec. of Health and Human Service) Kathleen Sebelius. Perhaps now that she has been promoted into the Empty-Suit-in-Chief’s cabinet, that might have changed. We won’t know because of his murder. Still, I can’t help but notice that those of us who opposed Tiller’s “medical practice” were willing to continue to pursue remedies within the law and seek his prosecution for illegally performing partial-birth abortions, a degree of patience that those on the Left seem unwilling to exercise. For example, rather than persuade their fellow citizens to enact changes in state laws prohibiting or regulating abortion, they chose in, one fell swoop, to eliminate this important issue from the public debate faster than one can vacuum out a uterus by getting an unaccountable judiciary to do their bidding. Shades of Dred Scott. The laws of justice turn slowly, but our side is willing to wait.  The Left? Not so much.

As for the legal issues at stake here, were I defending this case, I would understand that one thing is very important: this case will be won or lost during jury selection. Think the O.J. case, for a manual on how to get away with murder. Choose your panel carefully, and focus on those illegal abortions performed by Tiller, which turned his “clinic” into a death on demand center for the disposal of inconvenient human beings.

Now, let’s get ready to enjoy watching the Left scream for blood yet again, while avoiding notice of all the buckets of innocent blood their heroes bathe in.

Keith Olbermann’s New Best Friend, “Conservative Radio Talk Show Host” Mancow Mueller

Last night I had the extreme pleasure of speaking at the town hall meeting of an awesome group of high achieving, high energy patriots, all part of a new group Patriots United. I woke up this morning energized, excited, but also aware that the last six months may have left me more demoralized than I previously realized. I can’t thank Maida Korte, her husband Andy, Brian Kelly, Bill Parrot, John (forgive me--I can’t remember your last name!), Michael Brown of Testimony Pictures (the fabulous videographer/producer, and creator of the “Dear Mr. Obama” who taped the event) enough. You guys are the greatest, and you have really started something!

A couple of those attending the event mentioned yesterday’s on-air water boarding of Chicago DJ-turned-”talk show host” (in quotes because when a show is scripted, I don’t consider that hosting, but rather acting) Mancow Mueller. I never miss Mancow’s show: I never hear it and I never miss it; however, didn’t mention that last night when Mr. Mueller’s name came up. I didn’t want to get distracted from our important mission to discuss the reasons, or to mention the fact that not only am I not a fan, but also that was I unimpressed with Mr. Mancow’s latest radio stunt. Like all shock jocks, Mancow loves radio stunts, such as the hilarious one in 1993 that shut down the Golden Gate Bridge for several hours and resulted in a $500 fine and 300 hours probation for him, and a great new job in a larger market.

In most industries, if a person costs his employer $342,000 in fines due to indecency, get repeatedly sued for defamation, and send a rival a box of fecal matter, that person won’t earn a much higher paying job in a much better office; however, traditional radio is not most industries.

Having done a little work in traditional radio, I understand a bit about how it works. Management in radio is no different from management in other industries. They like what they know, and what they know is DJs. I’m not suggesting that ex-DJs can’t be smart, or that they don’t do terrifically entertaining and informative work on the air. One of the greatest talents in the history of radio, and the only guy who I listen to regularly on terrestrial radio, is an ex-DJ, the incomparable Rush Limbaugh. Rush is the rare exception in the industry, a highly intelligent, well-educated (albeit through his own reading and study) radio guy. We shouldn’t confuse a clown like Mancow with a serious commentator like Rush. No matter how many times he tries to “reinvent” himself, and no matter how many tea parties he attends, he’s still a silly doofus with a DJ puker voice thinking of “outrageous” ways to show he’s as “out of his mind” as any resident of a 1980’s radio morning zoo.

Perhaps that’s one reason I found it so interesting to see both Rush and Mancow as subjects on the on-air train wreck on Idiot Central aka MS-NBC, Keith Olbermann’s show. The last segment, an episode of a feature called “WTF?” was devoted to mocking Rush.

On the other hand, Olbermann was over the moon because Mancow, a “conservative talk show host,” admitted that water boarding is “torture.” So now, because unimaginative program directors, many of them failed DJs, have given a shock jock the platform to masquerade as the next Bill Buckley, his ratings-chasing antics are being used to combat serious public policy arguments. It’s ridiculous, and serious people shouldn’t be part of it. Don’t get me wrong: I’m all for entertainment, but let’s not pretend that the court jester is really Thomas More.

Barack Obama's Latest TelePrompTer Tennis Match

If you were hoping that the Barack Hussein Obama’s latest TelePrompTer tennis match would mark the beginning of the end his incessant repetition of his insufferable, hackneyed whiny mantra “I inherited it!!”, you are as disappointed as I was last night when Kris bested Adam to become the new “American Idol.” Just as millions of swooning 12 year old girls are responsible for the latter, the panting, slobbering passel of bobbysoxers in the Lame Stream Media helped foist this inexperienced, arrogant jerk with a history of doing “a little blow”--and if that’s not a perfect summary of qualifications for the office, I can’t imagine what is--on our country, so we are sentenced to listen to him bloviate endlessly, pointing his bony finger at us, looking down his nose as his head rotates from side to side so he can see what Axelrod wrote, and lecturing us as if he were talking to a group of five year olds.

This morning’s oration was no exception. All the same predictable yip yap about “our values”, “the rule of law,” and of course, the whopper about keeping us safe is the first thing he thinks about in the morning and the last thing he thinks about at night, which by the way lasted an hour. Geez, who is he--Hugo Chavez?

He attacked President Bush’s decisions as “hasty.” MMM …you mean like the decision to close Gitmo with absolutely no plan for what you want to do with the head-chopping maniacs who are determined to murder as many Americans as possible?

He also repeated the Left’s perfect response to the use of enhanced interrogations: we think they’re horrible, wrong and they upset the French, but that’s not really why we oppose their use. The reason is that enhanced interrogations don’t work. If we accept that as the truth, the argument is over. To that I say, my willingness to accept the truth that enhanced interrogations don’t work is like my willingness to accept the “truth” that human activity causes global warming or the “obvious brilliance of Barack Obama.” I’m not foreclosing the possibility, but I’m going to have to see A LOT more evidence. Speaking of evidence, can I see those other memos, you know, the ones that show the plots that the enhanced interrogations prevented? Does “transparency” only mean more pictures of the man-god in his swimming trunks, which I can seriously do without?

Here’s the bottom line on this performance, and it came at the end: we can’t use national security as a political wedge issue. This cynical remark delivered by the man who bemoaned the creation of the policies of the previous administration that made us safe as “expedient.”  Fortunately, I hadn’t eaten at the time I watched this smarmy empty suit politician caution us against any serious consideration of whether the policies with “God damn, America!” as their underpinnings might be worth voting against.

Oh, and we’re back to thinking of these lunatics with filthy rags on their unwashed dirty heads as “criminals.”  But he’s making us safer. Just trust him.

Barack Hussein Obama at the Formerly Catholic University of Notre Dame

Of course, it was a political triumph for the smooth-talking, albeit TelePrompter assisted, speaker, who once again was able to position himself as a “moderate” on the issue of protecting human life, as if there could be such a thing. Could one be a “centrist” on the issue of slavery? More on that in a minute, first the only thing that matters to Obama, the politics. The photos of the smiling narcissistic con man, which induce swoons and heart palpitations in his supporters and gagging in those of us who think he resembles a braying jackass, said it all. They said “If the premier Catholic university in the country can give me an award, how can anyone call me an extremist? What me worry?" A better question: why is Notre Dame endlessly giving political cover to politicians for this idiotic “personally opposed to it, but can’t impose my morality on anyone else” foolishness? Mario Cuomo, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, and now the Empty-Suit-in-Chief. Another good question, begging for an answer: how can anyone claim to be Catholic and vote for this infanticide-approving clown?

Barack Hussein Obama is described as “pro-choice,” which is equivalent to referring to Michael Vick as “not exactly a dog person.” Here we have a man who deplores the involvement of interest groups in politics, unless of course that interest group is Planned Parenthood, a man so terrified at even the suggestion that he would deny the “right” to an abortion that he opposes a ban on partial-birth abortion, a horrifying, gruesome practice that his Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, good friend of George “the Baby Killer” Tiller no doubt likes to call “late term abortion,” andwho opposed the Illinois version of the Born-Alive Infants Act while a state senator.

Still, substance is apparently unimportant when the Dear Reader can so skillfully recite the following, referring to a letter he received from a pro-life physician, who objected to use of the phrase “right wing ideologues” on his web site, while he was running for U.S. Senate:

“After I read the doctor's letter, I wrote back to him and thanked him. I didn't change my position, but I did tell my staff to change the words on my website. And I said a prayer that night that I might extend the same presumption of good faith to others that the doctor had extended to me. Because when we do that - when we open our hearts and our minds to those who may not think like we do or believe what we do - that's when we discover at least the possibility of common ground.

That's when we begin to say, "Maybe we won't agree on abortion, but we can still agree that this is a heart-wrenching decision for any woman to make, with both moral and spiritual dimensions.”

Oh, that is so Barack! He didn’t change his position. He’s still in favor of allowing infant abortion survivors to be put in a closet to die without medical attention, but he would change the words on the website. He is so wise! So deliberate! So cool, even when protestors interrupted him! Is it really that difficult to be cool when a few people shout at you while you are surrounded by people with guns who will drop anyone like a bag of dirt who makes the slightest move in your direction? Apparently so, because I have heard effusive praise for the man-god’s grace under pressure at ND.  After standing up to these terrifying attacks, he went on to rehash the hackneyed blather about reducing the number of abortions, while throwing a pitch for throwing more money down his usual favorite social welfare ratholes. As I said, all too predictable, and as nauseating as ever.

Let’s do a little thought experiment. Consider the phrase “substantive due process,” an Orwellian word construct of Obamic proportions, since there is no “substantive” component to the legal concept of due process, which simply means applying the law fairly, without regard to the result or the parties involved, and even without any empathy. Substantive due process is what judges fall back on when they want to enshrine their own personal preferences into law, but can’t find a shred of legal justification in the text of the statutes or Constitution to do so. I know this phrase isn’t one that comes up in every day conversation, but it is important, because in 1857, the Supreme Court decided the Dred Scott case, in which Justice Roger Taney found a constitutional right to own slaves using this legal doctrine. In 1973, the Supreme Court found the “right” to an abortion, once again relying on nonsensical and dangerous legal theory of “substantive due process.”

If instead of talking about abortion, we were talking about the “right” to own slaves, do you suppose the former “law professor” (actually a part-time lecturer, but I’ll play along) Barack Hussein Obama would be talking about finding “common ground” with those who wanted to assert that right? Would he and others who currently try to get us to buy into the concept of compromising with evil be prepared to extend the presumption of good faith to slave owners? Would they find it acceptable to allow slavery to remain legal, while trying to reduce the number of slaves being held?

If not, why not? And on other question: if the goal is to reduce the number of abortions, why was one of the former Barry Sotero’s first acts when he took over to lift restrictions on U.S. funding for abortions abroad?  Oh, and one other question for the Community-Organizer-in-Chief: if abortion is not inherently evil, why do we want to reduce the number of times this morally-neutral act is committed?

Until these questions are answered, I am not prepared to be swept up in the seduction of used-car salesman charms and TelePrompTer-presented pretty speeches being used by a smarmy politician to cover up his willingness to enable the murder of innocent, but inconvenient, human beings.

Kind, Compassionate Left Strikes Again: Daivd Axelrod Says Carrie Prejean is a Dog

Remember back in January, when Barack Hussein Obama, with Castro’s mouthpiece Greg Craig filling in for TOTUS (TelePrompTer of the United States), made a big show of signing his executive order to close Gitmo? Now that he’s decided to resume the military tribunals there, albeit while trying to make it more difficult to hold these murderous maniacs, in retrospect all that was missing from that photo op was the “Mission Accomplished” banner, no?

Speaking of mouthpieces for the inexperienced empty suit/former community organizer, his primary puppet master, the guy that the unfailingly insightful and knowledgeable John Kass has called “the Karl Rove of the Left,” David Axelrod appeared on NPR’s “Wait …wait …don’t tell me” on Thursday night. Most Americans  probably never heard of Mr. Axelrod before he helped foist Obama on the country, and are therefore unfamiliar with his impressive career as an apologist for phony Chicago machine politicians, most notably the current mayor. Certainly the “new voters” who were “energized” by the candidacy of the junior senator from Illinois, Barack Obama (D-ACORN), aka the ignoranti who swallowed the dopey hopey-changey gibberish that Axelrod fed into the TelePrompter are not. If any members of the Oprah audience, who prior to the ascension of the One, couldn’t name the president, have wandered over here by accident, let me commend this piece by Mr. Kass, a short, but excellent description of the stinking slough of corruption that took a narcissistic, ambitious former street agitator and turned him into a skilled politician.

Mr. Axelrod is a man who chooses words very carefully, so it was no accident when he said the following:

When Axelrod was asked if he had weighed in on the Obama family’s dog choice, "the Rasputin in this kingdom" (as Sagal jokingly refered to him) sassed back, “I was only called in for the final three, and one was Miss California.”

I guess we can assume that the reason that he felt comfortable referring to a 21 year-old woman whose only crime was daring to assert her belief that the word “marriage” means what it has meant for 5000 years, thereby challenging the new rules imposed by the militant homosexual thugs who apparently have assumed control of our culture when we weren’t looking, is that he made this statement on NPR, where he figured no one would hear it. He also no doubt felt very comfortable making this snotty, petty remark on this show, which you know if you are one of the couple dozen people residing in Oak Park, Hyde Park or similar enclaves of liberal condescension who has heard it, is an elitist snob fest that is almost impossible to parody.

Ah, the tolerant, kind, diversity-loving Left. They feign moral outrage over “torture” while sporting t-shirts with the heroic image of blood-thirsty killer Che Guevara. They self-righteously proclaim that “our strength is our diversity” while mocking anyone who dares to disagree with their Stalinist speech codes, especially if that person is a--forgive my use of this obviously disgusting term--a Christian.

On the other hand, perhaps it’s just that David Axelrod, who as everyone can see is quite a hottie, is offended that some people, few and far between I’m sure, think that Carrie Prejean is better looking than he.
